AVOIDING THE CBD.........CITY TO SURF WEEKEND

WAVERTON, LAVENDER BAY.

We stay north of the harbour this weekend to avoid the City to Surf crush. The weather looks like being lovely so we will enjoy views of the harbour and take in Wendy's Garden if we feel inclined.

Meet at the corner of Woolcott street and Balls Head Road Waverton. Plenty of free on street parking here.

This walk is about 6.5kms, please ignore the Kirribilli part of the loop if you use the link to Map My Run.

ELIZABETH BAY AND DARLING POINT

IN AN EASTERLY DIRECTION....

For a change of scene this Sunday we will head over to the eastern side. This is an interesting walk with lots of variation. Passing by Garden Island, Elizabeth Bay and Rushcutters Bay, we also discover some interesting steps and hidden shortcuts to historic Elizabeth Bay House and delightful Fred McElhone Park, one of the most picturesque spots you will find.

There are hills and flats, we designed the walk so that we go DOWN the steps(phew!), the distance  measures 7.7kms.

We will meet at 8am in the pedestrian Plaza opposite the Finger Wharf, on Cowper Wharf Road, near pedestrian lights.  On street parking for 2 hours is available if you make a right hand turn after the Shell Service Station on Cowper Wharf Road, meter money required.

Please let me know if you will be coming, then I will SMS if we cancel.........the forecast is for showers,

Cheers,
Bernadette

ECHOES OF ROSEVILLE

ROSEVILLE BECKONS

To send us loopy this Sunday we are discovering some more bush areas beginning in Roseville Chase.

Meet near 15 Normac Street, Roseville, near the access to Roseville Marina and, more importantly, Echo on the Marina cafe(echoonthemarina.com.au)The road is quite narrow with twists and turns but there is parking on the side of the road.

From Normac Street we will cross Boundary Road and skirt Roseville Golf Course before some bush walking on Two Creeks Track by the water under the Roseville Bridge. There will be hills and bush tracks as well as some street walking(!) In the sunshine Echo on the Marina is a wonderful venue for coffee.
