2020!! How did that happen?

ROSEVILLE PARK AND SOUS LE SOLEIL

This walk takes us from Roseville Park, starting where there is plenty of parking in either Clanville Road or Cranbrook Ave in a loop of about 6.5kms. We go through some bush then along some suburban streets to end with coffee in Sous le soleil cafe (where some of us made purchases last year!).

Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces for our first walk of the new decade.

Please let us know if you are coming along.

WILLOUGHBY LEISURE

EOY WALK

We are staying mostly on road this week for our last walk of the year.
We will meet at the Willoughby Leisure Centre car park (free parking) near the corner of Pendey and Small Streets.
We will make our way towards Naremburn and over to Artarmon before returning to the Incinerator cafe for a coffee.
The walk is about 6.5 kms.

Looking forward to the End-Of-Year finale before the absolute seasonal crazies start.

EOY BRUNCH

NORTHBRIDGE WANDERINGS

On Sunday we thought we would revisit Northbridge for a walk prior to our brunch. 7kms with some shade as we walk along the track beside the golf course and overlook the water. Parts are a little steep, but that should not worry us. Park and start at our place.

Please let me know if you intend coming as several people are away and others have functions on Sunday, we do like a quorum!

HAROLD REID RESERVE

Who the heck is........HAROLD REID?

This Sunday we will take a hike around Harold Reid Reserve, Castle Cove.

This is a very pretty and interesting bush walk, at 5kms it's a bit shorter than our usual walks but if we want to walk for coffee afterwards that will add another 1km.

There are a few options for coffee which we can explore on the day.

Meet at 8am at the end of Sugarloaf  Crescent, Castle Cove, plenty of on street parking, the pathway is cleverly disguised at the end of the street - this is one of those lovely 'hidden treasures' in our midst.

Cheers,

Bernadette.

LOOKING FOR SILVER WATER

The thrill of Sydney Ferries attracts us again (and the forecast of a cooler day).

This is a flat walk beginning at the Armoury Wharf Cafe, Blaxland Riverside Park Jamieson Street, off Holker Street, Newington. We walk from here (for about 20 minutes) to Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf to catch the 8.38am ferry from SOP to Meadowbank Ferry Wharf to start the main walk.
We will walk along a shared path on the Parramatta River, past mangroves and playing fields. Those who have not passed this way recently will be surprised by the development of a housing estate and parkland by the riverside. We cross the river at Silverwater Bridge and pass Wilson Park and Blaxland Riverside Park to arrive at the Armoury Cafe for a well earned coffee.

Remember to bring your OPAL card for your ferry ride :-)

A total of 8.3kms, no steps or hills, the approach to Silverwater Bridge is as steep as it gets.

Hope to see y'all on Sunday.

EPPING BECKONS

This is a loop walk of around 8km that starts and finishes at Epping Station where there is a good café nearby for coffee afterwards.

A great way to explore the Lane Cove Valley from Epping Station, this walk loops around North Epping, returning to the station. There are many sights to be seen along this walk, with Whale Rock and Brown's Waterhole being a couple of highlights. The walk explores Devlins Creek, upper Lane Cove River and Terry's Creek.

Meet on the corner of Langston Place, Pembroke St and Oxford St, Epping. We will have coffee at Nero's in Oxford Street (or somewhere) after the walk.

BALMORAL BUMPS

SUNDAY OCT 13

The forecast for this Sunday is much better than Saturday so we are chancing our arm at Balmoral for a shortish walk which includes some hills, yay!

Burran Ave, Balmoral is our starting point, free parking, plenty of spots during the week so fingers crossed for Sunday. Meet near the sign pointing down to the beach, where the star is on the map, near where Stanton Rd intersects with Burran Ave.

We can choose where to have coffee, before a short stroll along the Esplanade and beach, up to the cars.

Looking forward to seeing y'all soon,

Bernadette
