REVISITING BERRY ISLAND

We're ba....ck!

This is a re run of a previous walk we did in July last year, the forecast is for fine weather so we should have a fun time.

Looking forward to seeing y'all on Sunday, and catching up on the news.

B.

Remember 'choose your own adventure' books? Sundays walk has elements of that, plenty of scope to extend, and also to 'cheat' a little.

Lots of variety in this walk with streetscapes, plenty of bush track, a few Machu Picchu moments on a set of steps and magnificent harbour views. To top it off we even pass a series of Aboriginal rock carvings, where we were entertainment for an audience of kookas , who thought us highly amusing.

Steve and I clocked just over 8kms on Tuesday which included some detours and dead ends, and we didn't complete the intended route. There is plenty of scope to shorten or lengthen the distance, and a choice to attack the steep steps - even Steve was puffing atop them !!!!!

We will start in Shirley Road, near Wollstonecraft Station, where we very happily found a cafe which opens on Sunday :-)

Highly recommend this walk, it was very picturesque, see you Sunday.

 A wattle baby.........

Keep a lookout for this one...........
This last picture is where a tree has blocked the track - turn RIGHT to follow the easier path and LEFT (further left bro) to go via Machu Picchu.......

See you soon you big baboons......

Eastern Escapades!!

Beautiful day last Sunday, so hopefully this week will be the same for our visit to beautiful Centennial Park!!

Meet at 8.00am at Centennial Parklands Cafe on the corner of Grand Drive and Parkes Drive, Centennial Park. Grand Drive is the main circuit road through the park. A walk of 7.1 km is planned, under the expert guidance of Julie and Robert.

No link this week, but please let Julie know if you will be attending. Because you are going to be in such good hands this week, I have booked a spontaneous trip to the Northern Territory so won't be able to join you (truth be told I'm a little jealous because I love Centennial Park!!).

I will text Julie's mobile number to our regular walkers.

Hope you have a great walk - see you next time.

No Walking This Sunday

We spent a beautiful couple of hours last Sunday in the Botanic Gardens and around our magnificent harbour. My app registered 11.5km!! Pats on the back all round.

For this Sunday, however, just about everyone has told me they will be away for the weekend - I tried not to take it personally.  So we will have a rest and a sleep-in on Sunday morning and re-group on Sunday 20th April - when I will be away but Julie & Robert have kindly volunteered to lead you on an...

Eastern Escapade - watch this space for further details!

Cheers, happy holidays to the travellers, welcome back soon to the Ramseys. No doubt they will have wonderful tales to tell.

A Walk in the Park!

I hope you enjoyed the Easter break and are well rested and rearing to go!

This weekend we revisit a walk from August last year.

We will meet at 8.00am at Milsons Point Station on the Kirribilli side, at the base of the stairs leading to the Harbour Bridge. We will cross the Bridge, walk through the Domain and Botanic Gardens before fronting the Opera House and returning over the Bridge.

It is a little longer than our previous walks but there are no uneven stairs or muddy bush tracks, and stunning Harbour views to inspire us. There is also a choice of coffee shops at the finish.

Let's hope for a lovely sunny Sunday. Please let me know if you are coming so I know who to call early if the weather is inclement.
