Happy Easter!

Because several regular walkers will be away this weekend we have decided not to meet on Easter Sunday.  I hope you all have a great long weekend. Try not to over-indulge on chocolate (unless you really, really want to...)

Happy Easter and see you on Sunday, 7th April.

Cheers!
Marg

Sunday, 24th March - Woolwich Wanderings

Hopefully this Sunday we will have a repeat of the beautiful weather last week. Although the morning began with strong wind, this eased to a gentle breeze which was welcome.

We are going to repeat a 7km walk from July last year around Woolwich and Hunters Hill including Woolwich baths, Kelly's Bush, Clarke Park and Woolwich Dock.

We will meet outside the Woolwich Pier Hotel, Woolwich Road at 8.00am. We will stop towards the end for coffee at the Deckhouse before the final climb back to the cars.

Thursday 14 March 2013

Greetings, fellow walkers!

No word yet from our fearless leaders, so I hope they are safe and sound and having fun.

The weather forecast for Sunday is for scattered showers. Let's hope they fall in the afternoon rather than the morning.

This week we are repeating the Balmain walk from June. The link appears below. Please have a look at the map because I'll need all the help I can get with navigation.

We will start and finish the walk in Rowntree Street near the corner of Cameron Street close to a cafe called The Charlotte.

Please let me know if you will or will not be there.

TRY, TRY, AGAIN

GUNS N' ROSES

This week we are ignoring any obstacles (like a weather forecast) and walking on Sunday.

Meet in the car park of Gunners Barracks, end of Suakin Drive, Georges Heights, at 8am.

This picturesque walk takes us past historic army buildings, down to some gun emplacements built to repel the enemy sailing through the Heads. It also provides some magnificent views of our wonderful harbour, and again we  will enjoy coffee in the 'hole in the wall' at Chowder Bay.

Chowder Bay was the site chosen by the Theosophical Society to build a grand structure from which to view the second coming. According to the Society, Jesus was to walk through the Heads of Sydney Harbour - who knows what we might see on Sunday? You will, after all, be in the company of Saint B :-).

Oh DARLING

CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN!!!!!

Thanks for alerting me to the latest forecast Marg, it seems the weather holds the upper hand.

I've decided to cancel after all - want to avoid the early morning notifications. Sorry to disappoint, but you might have a chance to walk later in the day if the weather clears.

Here's hoping we get a walk in next week.

WEATHER PERMITTING

Apologies for the late post, Ramseyland has been a bit chaotic this week.

Tomorrow we will attempt to have a walk around Darling Point, Elizabeth Bay and Potts Point.

It has been a few weeks since we had a walk, so lets hope it doesn't rain on our parade - or the Mardi Gras tonight. The forecast for Sunday is 'no rain' - fingers crossed.

Meet at the Intersection before Harry's Cafe de Wheels on Cowper Wharf Road Woolloomooloo, near the Sienna Marina cafe at 8am. Metered parking is available nearby, some unmetered spots are in Bland and Nicholson Streets.

Looking forward to catching up tomorrow, weather permitting. Please sms or comment if you are coming, here's the link: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/142471689.

Cheers,
Bernadette
