ENDING 2012 WITH A BANG, NOT A DODDLE

....NOT 5KMS FROM THE CITY

I hope you all enjoyed a very Happy Christmas, and in an attempt to end the year on a high note, we have a grand walk planned around Northbridge and Castlecrag. Who'd have thought there would be so much beautiful bush and such delightful views within a stone's throw of the CBD?

This walk is only about 5kms (we do deviate from the map slightly, found another shortcut!) lots of bush track, some steps (lots actually) and a few hills to climb, and, just cause I can - there are ..........'many rivers to cross' (only 2 really)

Coffee in Castlecrag on our way back to Chez Ramsey for a light brunch to celebrate 6 months of Sunday rambles. Sounding good?

Would you please bring a small plate of something to share? There will be about 14 of us, Sue has offered to bring a plate of fruit, and it would be nice if you let me know what is arriving so I can fill any gaps, thanks.

Meet at our place at 8am, park in Tenilba Road, looking forward to seeing a lively crew on Sunday.

Cheers,
Bernadette

KISSING, BREWING, PUNTING - WHAT A WAY TO END 2012

HOW MANY WAYS???

Just how many ways are there to go from Putney to Mortlake???

Start again in Pellisier Road Putney, this time head for Ryde, through Bennelong Park, (lookout Marg, there is history here), cross the Ryde Bridge and head for Kokoda (easier than the last time, Robert) then a short hop to the punt (via a conveniently located coffee shop).

You might find out why Kissing Point is so named.........very nautical. History and beer buffs might have heard of James Squires, we pass by the sight of his Malt Shovel Brewery.........and loads more.

Don't be put off by the distance, it is all flat track, and there is that vast distance across the river to deduct...........

Thanks everyone for sharing our Sydney Sunday adventures, we have had such fun and made such discoveries, and I am sure we have ended the year fitter than we started.

Merry Christmas to those we won't see on Sunday, and cheers for a fit and fun 2013.

MIXED UP? BEDLAM? JUST ANOTHER SUNDAY MORN

PUNTING TO PUTNEY

Very alliterative this weekend..............park in Pellisier Rd, at the end of Putney Park.

It is a mixed bag - start walking, pick up the Ferry at 9.23 from Huntley's Point to Cabarita, then walk some more and catch the 10.30 Putney Punt aka Mortlake Ferry across to Putney Park.

Discoveries this Sunday will be the old asylum, now Gladesville Hospital, hence Bedlam Bay. We pass a tiny beach where inmates were permitted to swim; some lovely foreshore parks, with good views across the bay, and a bonus view of two bridges, ahhhh. Included for your viewing pleasure are some aboriginal rock carvings of kangaroos - something for everyone!

Don't be deceived by the map-my-run distance of 13kms, that includes the distance over water, coffee stop at Cabarita before a walk to the punt.

Bring some cash for ferries and coffee, see you at 8am Sunday, this looks like a goodie.
