MAGDALA MAGIC

IT'S A BIGGIE.........

As mentioned last Sunday we are extending our walk this weekend, to about 10kms. We might encounter some extra pedestrian traffic on Fig Tree Bridge due to the 7 Bridges Walk, but apart from that we should have the bush tracks to ourselves (almost).

We have decided to start and finish at Magdala Oval where there is plenty of parking, and afterwards it is only a short drive to Boronia Park for a coffee.

See you on Sunday, 8am.

21 AGAIN.......

To celebrate the 21st October we will take off from the Northern Suburbs Athletics Field  and complete a 5.5km loop.

This walk was on our early itinerary but it will be new to most of our group.

Meet at 8am, the field is easy to find - in Mowbray Road, near the intersection of Epping Highway (just up the hill, not far from the intersection).

Steve and I have in our minds an interesting 10km walk ( for the near future ), which we will discuss on Sunday. Maybe we can put aside a little more time one Sunday and undertake this longer route? It really is not that much longer than some of our recent walks.

Look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

LONGING FOR LONGUEVILLE

This Sundays adventure starts in Dettman Ave Longueville. Plenty of free parking at the end of this cul-de-sac, where the bush track leads us across the park and in front of Iggies.

We discover a little piece of history in an old well and continue walking along the waterfront as far as the track goes. Then we hit the streets and close the loop - the only thing missing is the cafe at the end of the walk. We will have to travel to the Lane Cove Plaza for coffee, the suggestion is 'Pablo and Rusty's' cafe.

Up the creek without a paddle!
                                                          Anyone for a dip?
Well, well, well!                                                                                                      Ha ha ha!

REVISION FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 7

Steve and I did a little parking reconnoitre this afternoon and have decided to alter the starting point of our walk on Oct 7th.

Meet at Harry's Cafe de Wheels at 8am - parking is ok in some of the streets surrounding this ie McElhone, Nesbitt and Plunkett Streets(towards the Tilbury Hotel)

You can make a right turn from Cowper Wharf Road near the Shell servo, park the car - and just make sure you don't try to sneak an early coffee at Harry's.

Looking forward to it,

Bernadette

LIZZIE BAY HERE WE COME!

In an easterly direction.....

For a change of scene this Sunday we will head over to the eastern side. This is an interesting walk with lots of variation. Passing by Garden Island, Elizabeth Bay and Rushcutters Bay, we also discover some interesting steps and hidden shortcuts to historic Elizabeth Bay House and delightful Fred McElhone Park, one of the most picturesque spots you will find.

There are hills and flats, we designed the walk so that we go DOWN the steps(phew!), the distance  measures 7.7kms so it should be a good challenge.

We will meet at 8am at the end of Elizabeth Bay Road where the road loops around a little park, with free on street parking.

This should be interesting and fun, see you Sunday.
